About UUFP

"United by action, not by creed."

For over 55 years, UUFP has been a liberal faith community located in North Coventry Township of Chester County, just south of Pottstown, PA. Our fellowship is a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations. UUFP was chartered in 1967 and our building was built by the founders themselves in the 1980s. Guided by our faith in the worth and dignity of all persons, UUFP provides a spiritual home for people from a variety of religious traditions, racial and cultural backgrounds, life experiences, and identities.

We welcome visitors to join us at our Sunday Morning Services which are held from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. Children and youth are welcome to attend service or participate in a Religious Education (RE) program, or the nursery which is offered during our service hour. We also have number of committees that focus on the upkeep of our grounds, the spiritual pursuits of our congregation, and the health and service of our local community in the Pottstown area.

Join us for coffee and conversation after service. We gather to nurture spirituality and community, working for more justice and more love in our own lives and in the world around us.

About UU

"The Seven Principles"

For some within Unitarian Universalism, there are seven Principles which reflect deeply-held values and serve as a moral guide. The wisdom and spirituality of these Principles are drawn from sources as diverse as science, poetry, scripture, and personal experience.

These seven Principles (Principios en EspañolPrinciples in Other Languages) are as follows:

  1. 1st Principle: The inherent worth and dignity of every person;

  2. 2nd Principle: Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;

  3. 3rd Principle: Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;

  4. 4th Principle: A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;

  5. 5th Principle: The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;

  6. 6th Principle: The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;

  7. 7th Principle: Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.

These shared values have recently been portrayed throughout the UU world as the floral design below. For more information on what it means to be UU, please click the button below.

Services

Discover our diverse range of services designed to cater to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. From engaging worship services to enriching educational programs, we strive to meet the spiritual and educational needs of our community. Services are Sunday at 10:30 with a robust coffee hour that follows full of discussion and social connection.

Sunday Service

Every Sunday at 10:30 am we gather for service. At UUFP we do not have a resident minister. Instead we solicit a diverse group of speakers that explore a variety of topics that range from what it means to be UU, to different points of analysis regarding living a well-examined life.

If you are unable to make it physically to our sanctuary on Sundays, we also broadcast our services on Youtube

Religious Education

Our fellowship offers a Religious Education program for our youth visitors during the Sunday Service. RE is often a structured mini-lesson followed by some sort of hands on craft. The curriculum is provided by the Unitarian Universalist Association and can be viewed online

Our fellowship features several classrooms, nursery room, playground, and ten acres of property for youth to roam.

Community Service

Our congregation is always on the look out for ways to donate our time, talents, and treasures to our surrounding Pottstown-area community and beyond. Our gardening program contributes to the Pottstown Cluster, we host programs such as cooking demonstrations in our restaurant-grade kitchen, local writer nights, as well as donations to support communities in Ukraine and beyond through Izzy Dolls.
